A brand new Dune featurette for Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary’s forthcoming action sci-fi film has been released (via Fandango), featuring commentaries from director Denis Villeneuve and its all-star cast including Timothée Chalamet. The video, which you can check out below, highlights its epic scale which brings to life Villeneuve’s ambitious vision for the new adaptation. The director also went on to describe the project as his “love letter to the big screen,” emphasizing how it’s really meant to be viewed in cinemas rather than on HBO Max.
The film recently had its world premiere at the 2021 Venice International Film Festival and is currently slated to arrive in theaters and on HBO Max on October 22.
“He’s had this movie in his mind since he was 14.”

Based on Frank Herbert’s 1965 novel, Dune will feature a star-studded cast including Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Zendaya, Chang Chen, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, with Charlotte Rampling, Jason Momoa, and Javier Bardem.

Dune is directed and executive produced by Denis Villeneuve from a screenplay he co-wrote with Jon Spaihts and Eric Roth. Cale Boyter, Joe Caracciolo Jr., and Mary Parent are producing. Oscar-winning and multiple Oscar-nominated composer Hans Zimmer (Blade Runner 2049) is creating the score.
