ComingSoon has an exclusive Kid Candidate clip from the upcoming documentary featuring Hayden Pedigo. The film had its World Premiere at this year’s SXSW Film Festival to critical acclaim.

Directed by Jasmine Stodel, Kid Candidate tells the story of Hayden Pedigo, a 24-year old experimental musician and his unlikely run for city council in Amarillo, Texas after his Harmony Korine-inspired spoof campaign video went viral.

After the viral video’s popularity caused Pedigo to become more known, he decided to try and actually pursue a seat in office. The documentary follows his efforts to do so and the many obstacles he encounters along the way.

The movie is produced by Will Dorrien-Smith, Chevis LaBelle, and Stodel. Executive producers include Barry Barclay, Floris Bauer, Jude Harris, Justin Lacob, Bryn Mooser, and Van Toffler.
Gunpowder & Sky will release the documentary On Demand and Digital on July 2, 2021.
