After yesterday’s teaser, the first Last Night in Soho trailer has been released. The psychological thriller is directed by Edgar Wright and is set to release October 22, 2021, after being pushed back twice from its original 2020 release.

As seen in the trailer, the film stars Golden Globe winner Anya Taylor Joy (The Queen’s Gambit) as Sandy and Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie (Leave No Trace, Jojo Rabbit) as Eloise. The plot centers around “a young girl, passionate in fashion design, who is mysteriously able to enter the 1960s where she encounters her idol, a dazzling wannabe singer. But 1960s London is not what it appears, and time seems to fall apart with shady consequences…”

Joining Joy and McKenzie are Emmy Award-nominated actor Matt Smith (The Crown), Rita Tushingham, Terence Stamp, Jessie Mei Li, Michael Ajao, Synnøve Karlsen, Lisa McGrills, Margaret Nolan, and Diana Rigg in her final film role. The veteran actress passed away in September 2020 at the age of 82.
From Focus Features and Working Title Films, Last Night in Soho is directed by Edgar Wright from a script he co-wrote with Krysty Wilson-Cairns (Penny Dreadful). Wright describes the project as in the same vein as Don’t Look Now and Roman Polanski’s Repulsion. Producers are Nira Park, Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, and Wright. Focus Features and Universal Pictures International will distribute the film worldwide
