UPDATE: It has been announced that Destination Marfa will make its United States premiere at the Manhattan Film Festival, which runs from June 17 through June 27, 2021. The film has also been selected to screen at the Toronto Film Awards 2021.
Andy Stapp’s directorial debut Destination Marfa has been officially picked up for North American distribution by SP Releasing.
The sci-fi thriller stars Tony Todd and Stelio Savante and features a group of four good friends who encounter signs from above in a small West Texas town known as Marfa.

In the included promo clip from Destination Marfa, Vincent (Savante) and Mayor Henry (Todd) share a scene at a local diner. Their discussion includes the mysterious visitors that have come to Marfa and where they should stay. This sets up a conflict that should come to a conclusion in somewhere between 90 and 120 minutes.

Todd and Savante go at it throughout the film, which also features Brittany Jo Alvarado, Kyle Colton, Marcus Jahn, Tracy Perez, Richard Riehle, Lisa Roumain, Neil Sandilands, and Scot Scurlock. Andy Stapp takes on writing and directing duties while also serving as executive producer. The film will release on August 3.
For those not in the know, SP Releasing is one part of independent film producer Steven Paul’s (Ghost Rider) SP Media Group, which also includes Echo Bridge Home Entertainment.
