ComingSoon.net is excited to debut the trailer for young adulthood comedy The Get Together, which releases May 14, 2021, on demand. Vertical Entertainment‘s coming-of-age film focuses on a house party that takes place in Austin, Texas. The party winds up being an important night for a diverse group of young adults as they continue their path into adulthood after exiting college. With a planned marriage proposal and an out-of-luck musician bumping into the love of his life, the party offers plenty of intertwining storylines.
The Get Together stars Alejandro Rose-Garcia, who is better known as musician Shakey Graves, Comedy Central’s Courtney Parchman, Glee alum Jacob Artist, Stephanie Hunt (from the band Buffalo Hunt), Ellar Coltrane (Boyhood), Johanna Braddy (Easy A), Luxy Banner and Katelyn Marie Marshall.
Directing the film is Will Bakke (Believe Me), who also wrote the script alongside Michael B. Allen. The duo previously released a 10-minute short called The Get Together in 2015. Jon Michael Simpson (V/H/S) serves as producer.
The official synopsis describes the film as such, “The lives of four twenty-somethings intertwine over the course of one Friday night house party in this inventive and hilarious coming-of-age comedy. August, a quirky recent college grad struggling to find her footing in a new town discovers her roommate and only friend has different plans for the future that don’t include her. Damien and Betsy, a cute couple returning to Austin, bump into an old friend of Betsy’s who invites them out to the party upending Damien’s secret plan to propose. Caleb, a directionless musician whose life unravels after letting go of the love of his life suddenly gets a second chance when he runs into her at the party. Each character attempts to navigate the often difficult and hilarious problems that come with growing up in the modern world.”
