Paramount Pictures has released the first trailer for The Lovebirds, starring Oscar and Emmy nominee Kumail Nanjiani (The Big Sick, Little America, The Twilight Zone) and Golden Globe nominee Issa Rae (Insecure, Little, The Hate U Give). A couple (Issa Rae & Kumail Nanjiani) experiences a defining moment in their relationship when they are unintentionally embroiled in a murder mystery. As their journey to clear their names takes them from one extreme – and hilarious – circumstance to the next, they must figure out how they, and their relationship, can survive the night.
The comedy crime drama also stars Emmy nominee Paul Sparks (House of Cards), Anna Camp (Pitch Perfect trilogy), and Kyle Bornheimer (Marriage Story).
The movie is directed by Michael Showalter (The Big Sick) and written by Aaron Abrams (The Go-Getters) and Brendan Gall (Blindspot, The Go-Getters) from a story by Martin Gero. Tom Lassally, Oly Obst, Todd Shulman, Jordana Mollick and Gero will produce, with Nanjiani, Rae, and Showalter all serving as executive producers.

The Lovebirds will arrive in theaters on April 3.
