StudioCanal has released the first teaser for A Shaun of the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon, a sequel to the 2014 animated adventure Shaun of the Sheep Movie. The teaser starts with a farmer who spots a giant crop circle in his field one night, only to realize it seems to have lured an alien spacecraft to Earth, where it then beams Shaun the sheep aboard. A Shaun of the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon is directed by Richard Phelan and Will Becher, from a script by Jon Brown and Mark Burton. Paul Kewley will produce with executive producers Mark Burton and Richard Starzak, Peter Lord, Nick Park and David Sproxton.
Farmageddon continues the production partnership with Aardman and StudioCanal following the success of Shaun the Sheep Movie, directed by Mark Burton and Richard Starzak, which grossed $106 million worldwide. StudioCanal is co-financing and will distribute in its own territories, the UK, France, Germany, Australia and New Zealand, selling worldwide at AFM.
The sequel is expected to hit theaters on April 5.
