‘Eurotrip’ Movie Review (2004)

So what sells these days? Well Janet Jackson proved that sex can get you into trouble, and if you take a lesson from Eurotrip you can see that when you rely on nudity an entire film can fall to pieces, just as did Janet’s Super Bowl striptease.

From the producers of Old School and Road Trip, two great comedies might I add, comes a horrible flick following Scotty Thomas (Scott Mechlowicz) on his trip to Europe to find his Berlin-based computer pen pal Mieke (Jessica Boehrs). On the way he and his friends, Cooper (Jacob Pitts) and the twins Jenny (Michelle Trachtenberg) and Jamie (Travis Wester), encounter several ups and downs on their way to Berlin.

If you go to movies for T & A then this one is for you, but be forewarned in the middle of all that comes a nude beach scene filled with old and naked men that is just about as bad as watching someone gulp down a pig intestine milkshake on “Fear Factor.”

When it comes down to it this is a weak attempt at comedy, using nudity as its, hopeful, saving grace. Unfortunately nothing can save this film from its obvious humor as every joke can be seen miles before it happens.

The only part enjoyable is Matt Damon’s small cameo appearance, which is the only bit of this movie you will remember or want to remember the next day.

If you are looking for a way to satisfy your youthful libido, I am not sure I can even recommend this one for that, come to think of it, you may just want to steer clear of this one completely.
