Early in January, it was announced that Mark Romanek was no longer directing Walt Disney Pictures’ upcoming live-action Cinderalla movie. Now Vulture is reporting that Disney is in talks with Thor and Jack Ryan director Kenneth Branagh to come on board.
The studio is said to be targeting a fall start in London for the film, which still has Cate Blanchett attached to play the wicked stepmother. The production is still looking for an actress to play the title role.
Produced by Simon Kinberg, the film was originally written by The Devil Wears Prada screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna. The site says the latest draft comes from Twilight: New Moon director Chris Weitz.
