Rumored ever since it went off the air in late 2011, HBO’s Bored to Death is targeting a second life as a feature film. The Hollywood Reporter says that a script that continues the adventures of Jonathan (Jason Schwartzman), Ray (Zach Galifianakis) and George (Ted Danson) is in the works from series creator Jonathan Ames.
The series, which merged classic hard boiled detective narratives with a modern-day comedy drama set in New York, ran for three seasons on HBO and ended on a bit of a cliffhanger that, if the movie version gets the green light, will be followed up on on the big screen.
In addition to writing, Ames will executive produce alongside Sarah Condon and Stephanie Davis.
