According to Deadline, the upcoming indie flick The Outside Story has cast Brian Tyree Henry (Atlanta, Hotel Artemis) as its lead. First-time writer/director Casimir Nozkowski will helm the project. Tyree plays Charles, a shut-in who has to figure out how to confront the outside world after he locks himself out of his apartment.
Henry’s career has been on a definite upswing of late. After starring in director Drew Pearce’s Hotel Artemis earlier this year, the actor will appear in White Boy Rick with Matthew McConaughey, Moonlight director Barry Jenkins’ upcoming If Beale Street Could Talk, Widows alongside Viola Davis and Carrie Coon, and will voice Jefferson Davis in the animated Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse. Atlanta, where he stars as up-and-coming rapper Alfred ‘Paper Boi’ Miles, has been renewed for a third season.
The Outside Story is produced by Sub Genre and Greenmachine Film. Evan Thayer and Cameron O’Reilly are onboard as executive producers.
