Rumored for some time, Alcon Entertainment has officially announced that they have acquired the screen rights to Icons, the forthcoming novel from the New York Times bestselling author Margaret Stohl.
Stohls solo debut novel, Icons is the first in a planned series at Little, Brown. The futuristic story begins after an alien race has decimated Earth. The fate of the planet lies with four children who are born immune to the aliens’ power.
Alcon recently wrapped production on Beautiful Creatures, which is the screen adaptation of the first in the best selling series of four books written by Stohl and co-author Kami Garcia.
We are thrilled with our involvement in Beautiful Creatures and the franchise it promises,” say Alcon co-founders and co-CEOs Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove. “Once we learned of Margarets new venture, we jumped at the chance to continue our partnership with her and this amazing series of books.
Erwin Stoff, who brought the project to Alcon, will produce Icons along with Kosove and Johnson. Molly Smith will executive produce.
