English singer Ed Sheeran is in talks to appear in director Danny Boyle’s upcoming music-themed comedy, according to the Daily Mail. The Working Title/Universal Pictures film has a script from Richard Curtis, writer and director of Love Actually.
Sheeran has previously appeared in Game of Thrones, Bridget Jones’s Baby, The Bastard Executioner and Home and Away.
The Daily Mail says that the film is about a man who wakes up one day to find he is the only one who can remember the songs of The Beatles. Sheeran is expected to write new music for the film, which will also include Beatles hits.
Ed Sheeran will join Lily James (Darkest Hour, Baby Driver, Cinderella) and Himesh Patel (Eastenders) in the movie, which starts filming this summer. Kate McKinnon (Ghostbusters, Saturday Night Live) is also in talks to join the cast.
Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner will produce for Working Title along with Matt Wilkinson and Bernie Bellew. Curtis and Boyle will also produce. Executive producing are Nick Angel and Lee Brazier. Erik Baiers will oversee the film for Universal.
