The Jane Fonda and Alicia Silverstone film Book Club has gotten a release date from Paramount Pictures
A release date has been set by Paramount Pictures for the upcoming film Book Club, according to THR. The film stars Jane Fonda (Barbarella, Monster-In-Law), Alicia Silverstone (Clueless, Batman & Robin), Candice Bergen (Murphy Brown, Miss Congeniality), Mary Steenburgen (Step Brothers, Back to the Future Part III), Diane Keaton (Something’s Gotta Give, The Family Stone), Andy Garcia (Ocean’s Eleven, The Godfather: Part III) and Craig T. Nelson (Coach, The Incredibles). The script for Book Club was written by A Walk in the Woods writer Bill Holderman, who will also direct the film.
Book Club follows four lifelong friends whose lives are changed when their monthly book club reads Fifty Shades of Grey. The film will be released on May 18, which puts it opposite Deadpool 2, starring Ryan Reynolds, and Show Dogs.
In addition to Book Club, Paramount has moved the release date for the Johnny Knoxville action film Action Point. The original date was May 11, which had it opposite Breaking In, Life of the Party, Where’d You Go Bernadette? and Don’t Worry, He Won’t Get Far on Foot. The film will now hit theaters on June 1, where it has no current competition.
