Despite putting the movie on hold to sort out budgetary issues, Legendary Pictures is shelving Paradise Lost, the film from director Alex Proyas and starring Bradley Cooper.
Budgetary issues were, once again, the concern, says Variety. Not long ago, pre-production was brought to a stand-still when Legendary thought it would be beneficial to take another crack at the script to bring the costs down. That remedy didn’t seem to help out. Sources tell the site that the technology to pull the film off wasn’t there.
Based on John Milton’s 17-century poem, the film was to focus on a war in heaven and the rivalry between the archangels Michael and Lucifer.
Cooper was to star alongside Benjamin Walker, Rufus Sewell, Dominic Purcell, Callan McAuliff, Camilla Belle and Casey Affleck.
