First reported last month, Clint Eastwood is planning a return to acting with Trouble with the Curve, to be directed by Robert Lorenz. Today, Variety reports that an offer is now out to Amy Adams to play the female lead, the daughter of Eastwood’s character.
From screenwriter Randy Brown, Trouble with the Curve features Eastwood as a baseball scout who is losing his vision with his age just as he and his daughter take a final road trip to Atlanta to check out a prospective talent.
Lorenz has been working with Eastwood as an assistant director as far back as The Bridges of Madison County. This project will mark his full directing debut and Eastwood’s first time in front of the cameras since 2008’s Gran Torino.
Adams stars in next week’s The Muppets and will play Lois Lane in Zack Snyder’s 2013 Superman film, Man of Steel.
