Good Morning America Teases Big Star Wars 40th Anniversary Announcement

Big Star Wars 40th anniversary announcement teased on Good Morning America

Good Morning America tweeted out some impending Star Wars news this morning. According to the tease, the morning news show on ABC will celebrate the Star Wars 40th anniversary with a big announcement. The video, which you can see below, lets us know that news is going to drop tomorrow morning with Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill). It’s being called, “the Star Wars announcement 40 years in the making.” New film? Info about Rey’s parents? The possibilities are endless. All this comes just four days before Star Wars Celebration in Orlando, Florida. We know we’re getting a new trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi there, so this is unlikely to be what they’re talking about.

GMA actually premiered the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story trailer, so the show will likely have something big, especially if Ridley and Hamill are appearing together. Is that a clue? Star Wars: The Last Jedi, which is written and directed by Rian Johnson and continues the storylines introduced in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, welcomes back cast members Mark Hamill, the late Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John BoyegaLupita Nyong’o, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, and Andy Serkis. New cast members will include Academy Award winner Benicio Del Toro, Academy Award nominee Laura Dern, and newcomer Kelly Marie Tran. The sequel is produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Ram Bergman and executive produced by J.J. Abrams, Jason McGatlin, and Tom Karnowski.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is scheduled for release in theaters on December 15, 2017. Are you guys excited for the big Star Wars 40th anniversary announcement? What do you think it could be? Let us know in the comments or tweet us @ComingSoonnet.
