Acclaimed Australian serial killer thriller Hounds of Love drops new trailer
Debut writer/director Ben Young (who is currently in pre-production on the Universal Pictures film Extinction, written by Arrival’s Eric Heisserer) has been getting nothing but praise for his critically lauded and multiple award-winning Australian serial killer thriller Hounds of Love (the title taking its cues from the Kate Bush song, perhaps?) and now North American audiences will have the chance to see the film when it premieres on March 11th at SXSW. A May 12th theatrical release will follow.
Hounds of Love stars Ashleigh Cummings, Emma Booth, Stephen Curry, Susie Porter, Damian de Montemas, Harrison Gilbertson and Fletcher Humphrys.
Synopsis: In suburban Perth during the mid 1980s, people are unaware that women are disappearing at the hands of serial killer couple John and Evelyn White. After an innocent lapse in judgment, Vicki Maloney is randomly abducted by the disturbed couple. With her murder imminent, Vicki realizes she must find a way to drive a wedge between Evelyn and John if she is to survive. Hounds of Love is an exercise in expertly-crafted tension, offering a bold, challenging debut Young.
