Meet the latest cast additions to writer and director Sam Levinson’s upcoming thriller, Assassination Nation
Bella Thorne (The Duff, Blended), Maude Apatow (Knocked Up, This is 40), Bill Skarsgard (Simple Simon, Netflix’s Hemlock Grove), Joel McHale (NBC’s Community, Ted) and Colman Domingo (Lincoln, Selma) are set to star in the upcoming thriller Assassination Nation. The film, written and directed by Sam Levinson, will be produced by Foxtail Entertainment, Phantom Four and Bron Studios, in association with Creative Wealth Media.
Assassination Nation follows four teenage girls in a small suburb who become the focus of unwanted, world-wide media attention after their personal information is leaked by an anonymous hacker.
Thorne, Apatow, Skarsgard, McHale and Domingo join an Assassination Nation cast already confirmed to include Odessa Young (The Daughter), Hari Nef (Amazon’s Transparent), R&B musician ABRA, and Suki Waterhouse (The Bad Batch, Billionaire Boys Club).
Producing Assassination Nation are Foxtail Entertainment’s Matthew Malek (Silence) and Anita Gou (To the Bone), Phantom Four’s David Goyer (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice) and Kevin Turen (99 Homes, Arbitrage) and Bron Studios‘ Aaron L. Gilbert (Fences, Birth of a Nation). Creative Wealth Media’s Jason Cloth and Andy Pollack are serving as executive producers.
“We couldn’t be happier with this amazing ensemble cast that is going to bring ‘Assassination Nation’ to life in a big way,” said Gou and Malek in a joint statement. “Sam has such a strong vision for the film that will combine an incredible story, a unique visual style, and now a killer cast that is anything but ordinary. Bron Studios and Phantom Four are amazing partners with a kindred sense for exceptional storytelling.”
Assassination Nation will begin shooting this spring in Louisiana. Check back for additional details on the project as they become available.
