Olivia Wilde is eyeing a leading role in Better Living Through Chemistry, Variety reports. She would replace the departing Jennifer Garner, whose pregnancy conflicts with the planned production.
Garner became attached last year when Jeremy Renner was planning to star. His role of a small-town pharmacist stuck in a loveless marriage will now be played by Sam Rockwell with Michelle Monaghan playing the wife and Judi Dench narrating. Wilde would play a woman with whom Rockwell’s character has an affair and winds up both taking drugs and, soon, plotting murder.
Geoff Moore and David Posamentier, who wrote the “Black List” screenplay, are making their feature directorial debut.
