Killer clown flick Clowntergeist premieres bloody new trailer
Remember that scene in Tobe Hooper’s 1982 classic Poltergeist? No? Well, you must remember the same scene in the 2015 Poltergeist remake? Whatever riff on the theme sits higher in your head, both supernatural chillers feature a toy clown getting possessed by spooks and terrorizing young people.

It’s probably that damned clown in the first film that launched our unending fixation on evil clowns in contemporary horror. These past 12 months have seen films like Clown, Clowntown and Circus of the Dead and this year, genre fans are getting excited to see the new incarnation of Stephen King’s Pennywise in the IT remake (or rather, the new adaptation of King’s massive novel).
No doubt in a bid to quote both Poltergeist and IT, comes Clowngeist, a new indie flick from High Octane pictures that sees a young woman and her pals at the mercy of an otherworldly grease-painted ghost.
