Fast Color is the story of a woman named Ruth (Mbatha-Raw) who is forced to go on the run when her superhuman abilities are discovered. Now, years after having abandoned her family, the only place she has left to hide is home.

“This is exactly the kind of movie I want to see in the theater – three generations of strong women finding their power,” says Liddell. “Gugu and Julia are extraordinary talents and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work with them both on this special project.”

Principal photography on Fast Color will commence in New Mexico on March 13. LD is fully financing the project.

Gugu Mbatha-Raw recently starred in John Madden’s Miss Sloane and in the fan-favorite “San Junipero” episode of Netflix‘s Black Mirror. Coming up, she’s set to appear in Disney‘s highly-anticipated live-action Beauty and the Beast in March. She’s also set to star in Paramount Pictures science fiction feature God Particle and in director Ava DuVernay’s now-filming A Wrinkle in Time.
