Ruby Rose is in talks to join the cast of Pitch Perfect 3

Universal Pictures‘ Pitch Perfect 3 appears to have found a new addition to its cast in Orange Is the New Black star Ruby Rose. Variety is reporting that Rose is in talks to play a yet-to-be-revealed role in the musical comedy sequel.

Anna Kendrick, Britanny Snow and Rebel Wilson are all confirmed to headline the returning cast of Pitch Perfect 3. Pitch Perfect 2, which was directed by Elizabeth Banks, also stars Hailee Steinfeld, Anna Camp, Alexis Knapp, Adam DeVine, Katey Sagal, Ester Dean, Kelley Jakle and Hana Mae Lee. Many, if not all, of those names are likely to be back for the next installment.

Kay Cannon, who scripted the first two franchise entries, is working on the script for the third film. An Emmy-nominated writer and actress with a heavy improv background, Cannon is also known for her work on NBC‘s 30 Rock and FOX‘s New Girl. Music video director Trish Sie is making her feature film debut with the December 22, 2017 release.

Ruby Rose is set to have quite a bit of big-screen exposure in 2017. She’ll appear in January in both xXx: Return of Xander Cage and Resident Evil: The Final Chapter and will follow those releases with a role in February’s John Wick: Chapter 2. She’s also currently filming the prehistoric shark action thriller Meg, scheduled for a summer 2018 release.

Producing Pitch Perfect 3 are series fixtures Elizabeth Banks, Paul Brooks of Gold Circle Entertainment and Max Handelman of Brownstone Productions.
