Best known for his extensive work as a visual effects supervisor, John Dykstra is taking a turn to directing with, reported by Variety, an adaptation of Jeff Lemire’s “Essex County” comic book, to be titled Super Zero.
Lemire’s work, beginning with a collection entitled “Tales From the Farm,” tells the tale of Lester, a 10-year old who winds up living on his uncle’s farm after losing his parents, retreating to a world of fantasy and childhood imagination.
John Carr has adapted Lemire’s work into a screenplay which will be developed by Rhythm and Hues, a VFX company recently responsible for work on X-Men: First Class.
