Fist pumping reboot Kickboxer: Vengeance reveals an exclusive clip
It’s been near 30 years since cult movie ass-kicker Jean-Claude Van Damme, the “Muscles from Brussels” and star of such scrappy flicks as Bloodsport and Cyborg, became an exploitation/B-action icon after breaking bones and getting messy in Kickboxer, one of the most beloved rental and cable favorites of the late 1980s. Now, Van Damme is back as the mentor to a new youngin’ looking to fight to kill in actor-turned-director John Stockwell’s (Christine, Blue Crush) bloody and belated sequel/reboot/whatever-you-want-to-refer-to-it-as, Kickboxer: Vengeance, on Blu-ray and DVD on November 8th – that’s tomorrow, by the way – from RLJ Entertainment.
The film tells the story of Kurt Sloane (Alain Moussi), who travels to Thailand to avenge the death of his brother at the hands of Tong Po (David Bautista). Kurt trains with the legendary Master Durand (Van Damme) until he is ready to take on Tong Po in a brutal fight to the death.
The Kickboxer: Vengeance Blu-ray and DVD will include a behind-the-scenes featurette with David Bautista, Georges St-Pierre, Gina Carano and Alain Moussi, taking you into the world of the film. You will see first-hand how the champion fighters take their martial art skills from the mat to the big screen to create the most intense, brutal and realistic battles seen on film.
To prime you for the blood-spattered beating you’ve always wanted but were afraid to ask for, we have an exclusive clip below from Kickboxer: Vengeance below. Who said the glory days of the grindhouse action flick were dead?
