Jeff Bridges, Alex Pettyfer and Jennifer Lawrence have joined the cast of The Seventh Son, Just Jared is reporting.
The film is based on the young adult series “The Last Apprentice” (known internationally as “The Wardstone Chronicles”) by Joseph Delaney and was originally planned for production under the title The Spook’s Apprentice.
The series tells the story of Thomas J. Ward (Pettyfer, who stars in next week’s I Am Number Four), the seventh son of a seventh son, born in the 1700s with supernatural abilities and who furthers his training with the help of a learned “Spook” (Bridges).
The film is also set to star Jennifer Lawrence (who next appears in X-Men: First Class) as a woman accused of being a witch and will be directed by Sergei Bodrov (Mongol).
