Katherine Heigl has canceled plans to star in the upcoming Adaline, reports Deadline, though the film will still move forward with another actress in the lead.
A sci-fi/fantasy from director Andy Tennant (Hitch), Adaline would have featured Heigl as a woman who, after an accident, loses the ability to age. After spending much of her life alone, she eventually meets a man whose love could cause her to lose her immortality.
Despite Heigl’s departure, the film still plans to shoot in mid-March with a search already underway for the actress’ replacement.
Angela Lansbury is also attached to the film, said to be playing the lead character’s daughter.
