Steve Carell may be planning on starring in Burt Wonderstone, writes Variety.
The script, by Jonathan Goldstein (“The New Adventures of Old Christine”, “Bones”) and John Francis Daley (who acted in “Freaks and Geeks”) deals with rival stage magician teams in Las Vegas. The lead character, the titular Wonderstone, is one half of a two-man group who has to rediscover his love of magic after the loss of his partner.
Goldstein and Daley have written the upcoming Cal of the Wild, The $40,000 Man and did rewrites on Disney’s Hours of Fun
The seventh season of “The Office” premiered last night, which has been announced as Carell’s last. With box office successes such as the recent Date Night and Despicable Me, Carell focus will most likely remain on film projects for the foreseeable future.
