Purple Rain to Play at AMC Theatres and Carmike Cinemas

Following the shocking death of Prince, both AMC Theatres and Carmike Cinemas have announced that they have worked together with the Warner Bros. Pictures distribution team to bring Purple Rain back to theaters. The movie theater chains will begin limited screenings of Purple Rain on Saturday, April 23 and they will continue through Thursday, April 29. We have included the theater listings for both chains below.

In Purple Rain (1984), Prince plays a young man with a talent for music who has begun a career with much promise. He meets an aspiring singer, Apollonia, and finds that talent alone isn’t all that he needs. A complicated tale of his repeating his father’s self destructive behavior, losing Apollonia to another singer (Morris Day), and his coming to grips with his own connection to other people ensues.
