Paramount Pictures has hired writer/director Greg Mottola (upcoming Paul, Adventureland, Superbad) to pen the screenplay for Important Artifacts.
The film will be based on Leanne Shapton’s book “Important Artifacts and Personal Property From the Collection of Lenore Doolan and Harold Morris, Including Books, Street Fashion and Jewelry.”
Risky Business says Shapton, an art director at the New York Times, “crafted a fictional estate auction catalog full of personal items and photographs from the four-year romance between a male photographer and a younger food columnist.”
Early last year, it was revealed that Brad Pitt and Natalie Portman are attached to star in the romantic comedy. The two are also producing through their respective banners, Plan B and Handsomecharlie Films.
