With filming getting started on the xXx sequel, Vin Diesel has shared a few more updates on his social channels. First up, Diesel announced that Samuel L. Jackson will be returning as NSA Agent Augustus Gibbons.

Terminator Salvation scribes Michael Ferris and John Brancato provided the most recent draft of the script, with Furious series mastermind Neal H. Moritz on deck to produce. Diesel starred as leading man Xander Cage in 2002’s XXX. Although a sequel, XXX: State of the Union, hit theaters in 2005 and starred Ice Cube, playing another XXX agent, Darius Stone, it failed to recapture the box office clout of the original. Tentatively titled xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, the third big screen actioner has been planned for years, but now it looks like it may finally be set to become a reality.
