SuperHeroHype has confirmed that Sean Hood has been hired to rewrite the script for Conan, which starts filming on March 15th. Directed by Marcus Nispel, the action-adventure will be distributed by Lionsgate.
In the film, based on Robert E. Howard’s mythical conqueror, Jason Momoa is starring in the title role, while Leo Howard is playing a younger version. Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer wrote the original script.
Hood wrote a screenplay with similar themes for the same producers, Joe Gatta and Boaz Davidson at Millennium Films, called Hercules, which is currently looking for a director. The producers will focus on Hercules once Conan is finished.
Hood also worked with Nispel on the script for the sci-fi thriller Subterranean, which may begin shooting later this year.
