You Can Look for Daniel Craig in ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’, but You Probably Won’t Find Him

I don’t remember hearing Daniel Craig‘s name rumored for a role in Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens, but apparently that happened and now it actually seems to have turned out to be true, though don’t try too hard looking for him.

Speaking with “The Sun” (via The Independent), Simon Pegg (who is also rumored to be in the film in some capacity) said, “I wasn’t a Stormtrooper. Daniel Craig, he was a Stormtrooper.”

“The Independent” did their own bit of reporting after that, citing a source that says, “Daniel asked for some sort of secret cameo role – and was happy to have his name left off the posters. Fans will love trying to work out which covered up character is him.”

Of course, then Collider followed up with Pegg about the story and he tells the site, “Why is everyone leaping on this? It was a rumour last summer, wasn’t it? I read it in the paper. It may be untrue, like most of the other rumors, like Cumberbatch and Cruise being in it.”

Why is everyone leaping on it? Because you just suggested James Bond is in the new Star Wars movie while also following up your original quote with, “I shouldn’t have said that.” Nevertheless, true or not, we’ll probably never know unless J.J. Abrams decides to point it out in a Blu-ray audio commentary.

One place you’ll definitely see Craig is as James Bond in Spectre this November while The Force Awakens hits theaters on Dec. 18.
