I haven’t started putting together my list of most anticipated movies of 2015, but I guess I better get on it since we only have a few days left in 2014. What may end up being my most anticipated blockbuster of the new year, however, may very likely be Mad Max: Fury Road, a film that seemed doomed due to delays in production, but has pretty much won everyone over with its first couple pieces of marketing. Today, Empire reveals a couple of new looks at star Tom Hardy in the title role.
The cover story sounds as if it will offer a wealth of interesting information on the film’s long production journey saying:
The February issue’s cover story is a journey through Mad Max lore, with Miller himself acting as your escort across a two-decade-long Mad Max: Fury Road making-of that took in triumphs, disasters and even an invasion of rogue amphibians. The writer/director opens up about everything from Mel Gibson’s early involvement to Heath Ledger’s possible casting and finally Hardy’s take on Rockatansky. For fans of the character – and of singular sci-fi visions that have lasted the years – it’s unmissable.
I don’t think I have ever purchased a copy of Empire, but this does sound quite fascinating. Here’s a look at the cover along with a second look at Hardy as well as the latest trailer for any of you that may have missed it.
