UPDATE: Get the most updated list of Oscar contending screenplays available for download here.
The list of movies from the last few months I’ve still not seen isn’t confined to just one or two, but one that I have not seen that I really do want to see is Justin Simien‘s Dear White People and someone must have had a chat with the Roadside Attractions crew alerting them that this is a film people are interested in and one that has captured the attention of more than just the indie crowd. After premiering at Sundance where it was awarded the Special Jury Prize, Simien went on to pick up the Futurewave Youth Jury Award at the Seattle Film Festival and the film itself has done quite well in a limited number of theaters, bringing in $4.1 million since its October 17 release.
Along with Simien, Tessa Thompson is getting a lot of attention and just won Breakthrough Actor at the 2014 Gotham Awards.
Today we add Simien’s script to the list of Oscar contending screenplays available for free download, all 18 of which are included below.
Happy downloading and stay tuned, I’m sure there will be more soon.
