Rosamund Pike in Talks to Join Charlie Hunnam in ‘The Mountain Between Us’

Rosamund Pike delivered easily one of the best performances of the year as Amy Dunne in Gone Girl. I hope she gets rightfully recognized for her work in the coming months, because it will be well deserved. I assume, even before all that, she is in high demand given Gone Girl has enjoyed both critical and commercial success, which leads to…

Pike is in talks to join Pacific Rim blank face Charlie Hunnam in the film adaptation of Charles Martin‘s The Mountain Between Us. She would be replacing Margot Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street), who was previously attached to the film, which will be directed by Hany Abu-Assad (Omar, Paradise Now).

[amz asin=”B0036S4CPW” size=”small”]I have zero issues with this casting decision. Put Pike in anything, and she will bring something to it. My issues lie with the previously announced Hunnam, whom I have only seen imitate a brick wall without the charisma. And based on the synopsis:

A pair survive a plane crash in the mountains where they are forced to trust each other and find safety while badly injured.

It seems we will be seeing quite a lot of him. Hopefully, Pike can teach him a thing or two or seven.
