I don’t know what Hollywood sees in Jai Courtney, but I saw all I need to see from the guy in A Good Day to Die Hard and Divergetn to know he isn’t exactly someone I would say radiates personality on the big screen. Sure, in Jack Reacher he was fine as a more-or-less mute brute, but even the latest over the next six years.
While Deadline says Courtney may end up playing a character in any number of the upcoming DC/WB movies, Variety suggests that character may be Batman villain Deadshot for David Ayer‘s Suicide Squad.
This would add Courtney to a cast that seems closer to being set, but many of the names still remain rumors and possibilities rather than confirmed participants. Jared Leto is being sought to play The Joker, Margot Robbie is rumored to be playing Harley Quinn, Will Smith might be playing Flash nemesis Digger Harkness a.k.a. Captain Boomerang and Tom Hardy is said to be up for the role of Rick Flag, a founding member of the Suicide Squad.
The film centers on an antihero team of incarcerated supervillains who act as deniable assets for the United States government, undertaking high-risk black ops missions in exchange for commuted prison sentences. It’s set for a August 5, 2016 release date.
