Sorry ladies (and gentlemen), but there won’t be any “Did I just see his penis?” going on in the upcoming Fifty Shades of Grey adaptation (you’ll just have to go see Gone Girl again for that) as star Jamie Dornan recently told The Guardian, “You want to appeal to as wide an audience as possible without grossing them out. You don’t want to make something gratuitous, and ugly, and graphic.” No word on whether or not that means co-star Dakota Johnson won’t show any skin, but I’m pretty sure they’ll be going for a PG-13 with this movie… right?
And as for whatever kind of sex scenes the film will offer, they might get you hot and bothered, but Dornan says it’s not such a joy for the actors creating them. “Anyone who thinks actors get turned on doing sex scenes in films is mistaken,” he said. “There are dozens of hairy men standing around, moving cables and lighting equipment. That’s not sexy unless you’re into being watched, which I’m not.”
Well, there are no hairy men in the following 15-second teaser for the film, promoting the upcoming new trailer, premiering November 14. The film arrives February 13, 2015.
Oh, and here’s the previously released first trailer.
Based on the book by E.L. James, Fifty Shades of Grey centers on literature student Anastasia Steele, who goes to interview young entrepreneur Christian Grey and encounters a man who is beautiful, brilliant, and intimidating. The unworldly, innocent Ana is startled to realize she wants this man and, despite his enigmatic reserve, finds she is desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana’s quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her, too — but on his own terms.
Shocked yet thrilled by Grey’s singular erotic tastes, Ana hesitates. For all the trappings of success — his multinational businesses, his vast wealth, his loving family — Grey is a man tormented by demons and consumed by the need to control. When the couple embarks on a daring, passionately physical affair, Ana discovers Christian Grey’s secrets and explores her own dark desires.
Erotic, amusing, and deeply moving, the Fifty Shades Trilogy is a tale that will obsess you, possess you, and stay with you forever.
