Cara Delevingne is probably a name you’re unfamiliar with, I know her’s wasn’t a name at the tip of my tongue. The fashion model turned actress, however, had a role in Joe Wright‘s Anna Karenina, stars in Michael Winterbottom‘s The Face of an Angel and will be seen in Wright’s next movie, Pan, but her blockbuster prospects may get a lot bigger very soon.
Latino Review reports Delevingne is under consideration for a role in David Ayer‘s DC Comics movie Suicide Squad as well as a possible role in Pirates of the Caribbean 5, though no further details were revealed concerning the Pirates 5 role.
As for her part in Suicide Squad, the site speculates it may be as Harley Quinn, though I’m not sure why since even they admit “earlier drafts of the script didn’t have Harley included”.
The Suicide Squad casting, however, is moving quickly with Margot Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street) seemingly already signed on and the studio chasing both Will Smith and Tom Hardy hard. With the combined talent being discussed and the A-Team-esque aspect of the storyline, it could be a fun flick.
The Suicide Squad is an antihero team of incarcerated supervillains who act as deniable assets for the United States government, undertaking high-risk black ops missions in exchange for commuted prison sentences. The release date is currently set for August 5, 2016.
