This will hardly be an exciting weekend at the box office, at least when it comes to the new releases unless the Keanu Reeves-led John Wick can somehow find a way to top PG-13 horror newcomer Ouija, but that is a highly unlikely scenario.
Thursday night screenings kicked things off with Ouija snagging $911,000 from 2,061 theaters. Laremy and reader predictions expect the film to climb just above $22 million for the weekend and that could very well be the case, though a $20 million ceiling wouldn’t surprise me.
As for John Wick, the Variety), which would mean Laremy’s prediction and the reader average hovering around $13.9-13.9 million is going to be quite high. We’ll see, though I would love to see this thing take off.
