Warner Bros. is going to wait four years before bringing Godzilla back to the big screen as the studio has announced Godzilla 2 will hit theaters on June 8, 2018. Of course, this date makes sense considering Legendary is releasing King Kong: Skull Island on November 4, 2016, which is generally considered to be something of a stepping stone leading to a Kong vs. Godzilla feature some time in the future.
As for Godzilla 2, Legandary has upcoming Star Wars stand-alone features.
In other sequel news, Martin Lawrence was on “Conan” last night (watch below) and confirmed Bad Boys 3 is in development, telling the late night host, “I believe so. Yes. I just talked to Jerry Bruckheimer yesterday and he said its real, they’re working on the script, they’re getting close and it all looks good.”
This news is hardly anything new on the Bad Boys 3 front as we’ve heard the script has been in development for a long time, but perhaps it’s getting closer if Bruckheimer is actually discussing it with Lawrence, but I have to wonder if they’ll be able to get Michael Bay and Will Smith back. Once those two start saying it’s “real” then I’ll take it a little more seriously.
