As far as I’m concerned, the undeniably best moment in Darren Aronofsky‘s Noah is the creation scene, narrated by Noah (Russell Crowe). It’s a scene that deftly presents the ideas put forth in both Creationism and Darwinism and places them side-by-side and Aronofsky takes it right to the limit as the ape swings into view, but he doesn’t go so far as to show the ape evolving into a human.
From there we move to Adam and Even and Matthew Libatique‘s spectacular silhouetted photography as man battles man, from Cain and Abel all the way to a present day riot police officer. All set to the score by Clint Mansell. It’s stunning.
Check out the clip below and after that I have included all 41 different silhouetted shots from the film, which I’m sure you’ll enjoy.
