Nacho Vigalondo made a name for himself with his interesting time travel movie Timecrimes. His follow-up, Extraterrestrial (read my review here), wasn’t bad either as he took the idea of an alien invasion movie and turned it into something of a romantic comedy. Next up is Open Windows, a film that sounds like it’s entirely a horror/thriller starring Elijah Wood and Sasha Grey (The Girlfriend Experience).
Here’s the plot:
Elijah Wood stars as a fanboy of actress Jill Goddard (Sasha Grey), and as the winner of an online contest he gets the rare chance to have dinner with her. However, when dinner plans are cancelled someone named Chord says he can make up for it. Chord gives Nick (Elijah Wood) the tools to spy on Jill from his computer, in a way that no fan could ever dream of. After each demand Chord gives Nick, it becomes apparent that Chord set the whole thing up and Nick is a part of a much bigger, more sinister plan.
Open Windows will premiere at the SXSW FIlm Festival on Monday, March 10 at 9 PM at the Alamo Ritz and today the first poster (via BAD) and trailer have arrived. Give both a look below and let me know what you think in the comments.
