On the heels of announcing Anthony and Joe Russo would return to direct Captain America 3, Marvel has quickly followed that up with news Christopher Yost and Craig Kyle, writers on Marvel’s X-Force and New X-Men comics, will write the screenplay for Thor 3. Additionally, Kyle has already served as producer on both Thor and Thor: The Dark World, while Yost co-wrote Thor 2.
This news, of course, means that along with Captain America 3, we can fully realize both Captain and Thor will survive whatever events take place in The Avengers: Age of Ultron, essentially eliminating any tension that film may have otherwise had. If I were to guess, the events of all three films will involve someone trying to destroy someone’s home planet, be it Thor’s or Earth, or perhaps just trying to lord over the inhabitants of the victimized inhabitants of said planet.
