Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross Will Score David Fincher’s ‘Gone Girl’

After collaborating on the score for David Fincher‘s last two films — The Social Network and The Girl with the Dragon TattooTrent Reznor has confirmed he and Atticus Ross will join forces once again to provide the score for Fincher’s upcoming adaptation of Gillian Flynn‘s Gone Girl.

Reznor and Ross won the Oscar in 2010 for their The Social Network score and while their score for Girl with the Dragon Tattoo wasn’t nominated, I’d argue it was still one of the more interesting scores of 2011.

[amz asin=”030758836X” size=”small”]As for Gone Girl, the relationship between the duo and Fincher seems not only a perfect match, but the moods they’re able to create seem well suited for the material.

Flynn adapted the screenplay herself, which centers on a woman (Rosamund Pike) that goes missing on the day of her fifth wedding anniversary. Her husband, Nick Dunne (Ben Affleck), becomes a prime suspect. The film co-stars Neil Patrick Harris, Tyler Perry, Kim Dickens and Patrick Fugit and is set to hit theaters on October 3, 2014.
