Your Box Office Predictions for ‘Her’, ‘Lone Survivor’, ‘Hercules’ and ‘Wolf of Wall Street’

Would you look at that, for the first time in quite some time we have over 100 readers taking place in the weekend box office predictions. Hopefully by the end of the day or at least by some time next week I will have a Wall of Champions put together for 2013’s champions rusty and Exxdee13 who both received their prizes ($50 Amazon gift certificate) over the weekend and were kind enough to send over pictures, crowning them as the first two champions of the RopeofSilicon Box Office Challenge. Will you be next?

As for this weekend’s numbers, there is a divide between Laremy’s predictions and the readers on three of this week’s titles. First is Lone Survivor, which is expanding into 2,876 theaters. Laremy went with $18.9 million, but the readers are far more bullish, predicting $20.7 million.

A similar disparity separates predictions on The Legend of Hercules, though this time in the opposite direction as Laremy predicted an $11 million opening while the readers aren’t so sure, predicting only $9.2 million.

In fact, the readers have Hercules finishing behind Her, which is also expanding this weekend into 1,729 theaters. Laremy predicted a $10.2 million finish while the readers only see $9.2 million for the critically adored film, but will audiences be equally captivated?

Finally, The Wolf of Wall Street is showing signs of holding over rather well and Laremy and the readers aren’t too far off on this one, with the reader aggregate coming in at $8.9 million.

I’ve included Laremy’s predictions and the average reader predictions directly below and I’ll be back on Sunday with box office estimates. To see Laremy’s full list of predictions and all 90 reader predictions for this weekend click here.
