‘Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit’ Extended Clip and Character Posters

After delaying Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit a month to make way for Martin Scorsese‘s The Wolf of Wall Street, Paramount is set to release the Tom Clancy adaptation on January 17 and an extended clip and four character posters have just come available.

The film brings Clancy’s most popular character back to the big screen for the first time since The Sum of All Fears, with Chris Pine playing Jack Ryan, a Financial Intelligence Unit of the modern CIA who becomes an analyst, under the guardianship of his handler, Harper (Kevin Costner). When Ryan believes he’s uncovered a Russian plot to collapse the United States economy, he goes from being an analyst to becoming a spy and must fight to save his own life and those of countless others, while also trying to protect the thing that’s more important to him than anything, his relationship with his fiancee Cathy (Keira Knightley).

I’ve included the clip and four posters below, but I also wanted to ask if anyone saw the latest TV spots for this film playing during the NFL playoffs over the weekend? There’s a moment where Knightley’s character says, “You’re in the CIA,” and it clearly isn’t Keira Knightley’s voice. I can’t, for the life of me, think why they would do that. Is there a reason audiences wouldn’t want to hear Knightley’s British accent? I tried finding the spot on YouTube, but no luck.
