Color images from the Coen brothers’ The Man Who Wasn’t There have been around for some time, but I’ve never actually seen footage from the film in color. That changed today as Slashfilm unearthed a clip from what appears to be one of the South Korean DVD versions where the film was contractually obligated to be released in color.
[amz asin=”B00006CXGZ” size=”small”]I have taken the four-minute clip and after two minutes placed a picture-in-picture look at the same scene in black-and-white and on top of that added something of a 90 second audio commentary from a Film 4 interview with the brothers from Cannes, where the film premiered in May of 2001.
Of course, this isn’t the way the film was intended to be seen, but it is nonetheless fascinating. Plus, do know, if you haven’t seen the film yet, this video serves as a massive spoiler as it’s taken straight from the end of the film.
