For anyone that pays attention to FilmDrunk.com, you are already familiar with RopeofSilicon Box Office Oracle Laremy Legel and FilmDrunk’s Vince Mancini who runs FilmDrunk. Well, those two along with Ben Kaplan and Matt Lieb attended this year’s “Gathering of the Juggalos” after traveling in an RV from California to Cave-In-Rock, IL and in the process they created a documentary to help us get an idea of exactly what takes place at the Faygo-drenched event.
Today the first trailer for the film dropped and it looks great. Here’s a description of the project:
Whoop Dreams is a feature-length documentary about strangers in a strange world. Members of the Filmdrunk.com podcast (aka The Frotcast) raised funds to travel from California to Cave-In-Rock, IL to experience a music festival unlike any other. Each year, thousands of Psychopathic Records fans, calling themselves “Juggalos”, congregate at the southeastern Illinois town in a private park with no interference from local authorities. They call it… The Gathering of the Juggalos.
The title of the doc is Whoop Dreams and I’m not quite sure when it will be available to watch, but if you want a better idea of what it will entail, check out Vince’s Tour Diaries right here.
Oh, and yes, the trailer is not safe for work, though I expect the movie itself will be far more explicit.
