Your Box Office Predictions for ‘Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ and ‘Delivery Man’

The predictions are in and both Laremy and the readers believe The Hunger Games: Catching Fire will walk away from this weekend with the highest three-day opening of the year. The reader aggregate is a little more bullish than Laremy, coming in at $178.9 million and after the massive total from Thursday night screenings it seems these predictions may be spot on.

The highest reader prediction on the board was from PJ Edwards who believes Catching Fire will top The Avengers and have the highest opening total of all-time at $210.2 million. That won’t actually end up being the case, but I can appreciate the optimism.

Both the readers and Laremy see a similar result for The Best Man Holiday coming in at #2 with only $300,000 separating their the predictions, but there is some disagreement over the #3 and #4 film.

Laremy sees Delivery Man taking the third spot over Thor: The Dark World, but the readers see it differently, suggesting Thor will come in around $14.2 million to Vince Vaughn‘s Delivery Man at a paltry $11.9 million.

I’ve included Laremy’s predictions and the average reader predictions directly below and I’ll be back on Sunday with box office estimates. To see Laremy’s full list of predictions and all 90 reader predictions for this weekend click here.
